Our Island Botany section will offer practical gardening and farming advice. We plan that it will work out to be an online extension and information service, sourcing from relevant university, government and other weblinks, photos, library, book and periodical references as well as articles written for the site specifically aiming at helping to educate Virgin Island farmers, gardeners, and students. Planned areas of coverage include: Site planning, land preparation, specialist growing containers (tires for example), planting medium, irrigation systems, planting materials, pest and disease identification and control, plant nutrition and water management, crop planning, budgeting and recordkeeping, wildcrafting and descriptions of our farming economies and resources.
