Volunteer

Want to Volunteer?

We have created a volunteer list that receives a weekly email from our volunteer coordinator, Chloe Beyer, outlining opportunities to help on many of the farms on St Thomas. Your volunteer time may be spent weeding, building terraced growing beds, running irrigation lines, planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, grafting trees or moving compost. We invite you to get your hands in the soil with us and to make more local, organic produce available for all of us.

It’s good for the community and for your soul. For more info please contact Chloe at chloe.growvi@gmail.com

Why We're Here

Without our help, food sustainability in our territories is not possible.

Among the many obstacles that our farmers face, affordable labor is one of the top two cited problems to increased production (the other being lack of available water). Most of the farm land on St Thomas is on an incline, which means a great deal of labor goes into moving earth to create growing beds. Many of our farms are only utilizing small portions of their growing capacity because they can not afford the help they need to prepare the land. One of our missions is to help forge a new relationship between the farmer and his/her community.
